Missing Silas

A little over two weeks ago Silas went missing. He went outside to handle his business, and we haven't heard from him since. I have gone to local vet's offices, checked with animal control, and local shelters. No one has seen him. If someone picked him up, they are planning to keep him. Josh and I believe something more sinister may have happened to our sweet first born child with all the wild animals that live in the area.

I miss him so much, and I don't want to admit it but I don't think we will see him again. It's crazy to think about all the things Silas has been through with us. Josh bought him for me as a birthday gift a few months into our relationship. He has virtually been around from the beginning of our relationship, so he has celebrated Christmases and birthdays and countless other holidays with us. He was around when Josh got Fletch. He was there (well, at home) when we got married. He was with us when we moved to Florida, North Carolina, and most recently California. He was with us when Gray was born and at his first birthday party.

He was a bitter little Chihuahua, but he was my bitter Chihuahua. He had some of the coolest tricks around. He had terrible breath and a bad attitude, but we loved him just the same. He has been a part of our lives for seven years and it is incredibly sad that he is missing. I still have hope that he will come home, but my optimism is faltering. Please continue to pray that he comes home safely.

I thought it would be nice to post some pictures of Silas over the years... He was such a cute Chihuahua, and I'm not just saying that because he was my doggy!

  1. Oh I'm bawling my eyes out!! You know I made a shutterfly photobook of all of O'Brien's pictures. I know your heart is hurting something terrible right now, I really do!! Know that I thought Silas was the 2nd coolest little dog ever (don't tell O'Brien, but Silas does have a lot cooler tricks!). Love you so much and praying Silas makes a return!
